Care to Lock
The Care To Lock campaign is a collaborative effort between Atlantic Prevention Resources (APR) and Cape Assist, focusing on the crucial role of adults in preventing youth access to potentially harmful substances such as cannabis, alcohol, or misuse of Rx medications. This initiative is particularly timely and significant in New Jersey, where recent legalization efforts have shifted public perception around marijuana use.
The campaign emphasizes secure storage of these substances and promotes open dialogues on substance misuse prevention, aiming to protect young people from the adverse effects associated with early substance exposure.
Talk and Listen
Don’t leave your kids in the dark. Open up the conversation by encouraging them to ask questions.
Secure
Store these substances safely out of reach and out of sight by using a locked cabinet, lockbox or locking pouch.
Monitor
Make sure you are aware of what and how much you have! Keep an eye out for changes in the household.
Dispose
Dispose of unwanted products responsibly.
