Safety Tips for Prom
and Graduation Season
Underage Drinking is Preventable
Prom and graduation season are exciting times for teenagers. But they also come with increased risks, especially in regards to underage drinking. It’s important for teens and parents to make safety a priority during these times. For teens, having a plan before the festivities will help. This should include safe transportation, trustworthy friends and knowing who to contact in case of an emergency. Parents and guardians can support their teen by having an open, judgement-free conversation about the dangers of drinking and other drugs. Choosing a safe emoji/text as a code for the teen to get out of any risky situation can help prepare them for the day, as well. Remember, one bad decision can turn a celebration into a tragedy! Make prom and graduation season a time you want to remember!
